UGG at Browns
The beaches of Southern California have long been emblematic of the relaxed, casual lifestyle, a lifestyle that UGG founder, Brian Smith, felt was a perfect fit for the UGG brand. Brian began selling his UGG sheepskin boots in 1978 and they were an immediate sensation. By the mid 1980's, the UGG brand became a symbol of laidback southern California culture, gaining momentum through surf shops up and down the coast. People didn't just like wearing UGG boots, they fell in love with them and literally could not take them off! That includes, Oprah who in 2000, featured UGG on her Favorite Things® list, solidifying the brand’s iconic status.
