In 1856 Mr Henry Lee Norris, an American entrepreneur, landed on Scottish soil in search of a home for his boot making company. Production of wellington boots was dramatically boosted with the advent of World War 1 when the company was asked by the War Office to construct a sturdy boot suitable for the conditions in flooded trenches. Today, Hunter is more than its famous green Welly. Building on its strong tradition of marrying craftsmanship with design, Hunter continues to evolve and redefine its heritage, capturing a particular breed of luxury that will endure for many generations to come.
